Does the other person need Papagaio?
No. Only you need Papagaio installed. The other person hears your translated voice through their normal audio — no setup required on their end.
Which video call apps are supported?
The Chrome Extension works with any browser-based call: Google Meet, Zoom (web), Microsoft Teams (web), Slack, Discord, and more. The Desktop App (coming soon) will work with native apps too.
How many languages are supported?
57+ languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, and many more. Any combination works.
Is there a delay?
Less than 1 second. The conversation flows naturally — no awkward pauses.
Does it preserve my voice?
Yes! Our AI maintains your natural voice characteristics. Instead of a robotic text-to-speech voice, listeners hear something that sounds like you speaking the other language.
Is my audio recorded or stored?
Never. Audio is processed in real time and immediately discarded. We don't store, record, or log any audio content. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What happens when I run out of minutes?
Translation pauses until you upgrade or your minutes reset next billing cycle. You'll get a warning at 80% usage so you're never surprised.
Can I try it for free?
Yes! Every account gets 5 free minutes per month. No credit card required.
Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for common issues.
Translation isn't starting
Make sure you've selected a target language in the Papagaio popup. Check that your microphone is not muted and that you've granted microphone permissions to the extension.
Audio quality is poor
Use a headset or earbuds to avoid echo. Make sure you're in a quiet environment. A stable internet connection (10+ Mbps) helps.
Extension icon is grayed out
The extension activates only on supported video call pages. Open a Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams call and the icon will light up.
